EL PASO, TX (KTSM) — Defense witnesses for a man accused of stabbing and killing an Andress High student back in 2009 said they were attacked first.
Luis Ramos, 24, allegedly stabbed 18-year-old Angel Garcia during a fight at a house party in northeast El Paso in November of 2009.
A friend of Ramos testified Tuesday that he and Ramos were leaving the party when someone bumped into Ramos. The friend said when he tried to calm down the situation he was jumped and Ramos was trying to help him.
They were then both hit with vodka bottles. The friend said after their attackers pulled out knives, he and Ramos each got into their own vehicles and met back at Ramos' apartment, but ramos never made mention that he had stabbed anyone.
The trial continues Wednesday.
