EL PASO, TX (KTSM) — A mother was arrested and charged in the death of her 5-month-old baby girl who was allegedly left inside an SUV near Riverside High School in May.
Wakesha Ives, 37, faces charges of injury to a child.
Janay Aliah Ives’ death was ruled accidental, but the medical examiner office's said the baby had to have been left inside the vehicle for several hours, according to Ives' autopsy.
The autopsy report said an exam of Ives' eyes showed dehydration.
As we reported, Janay was found the afternoon of May 10.
Wakesha Ives is a finance teacher at Riverside High. She found the girl when she left school for the day.
