El Paso, TX (KTSM) — The new Superman movie, "Man of Steel" is out, and it's breaking box office records in some countries. Locally, Superman merchandise is flying off the shelves at comic book stores. We visited Asylum Comics on the west side Friday. Employees there say the movie is behind the spike in sales, but they also say Superman has always been popular because he's a regular guy who uses his super powers for the good of all.
"Superman has been super popular. They want posters. They want comics. they want toys. Anything Superman. They want it all," said
Gregory Lara, with Asylum Comic Books.
The movie is now showing at several theaters here in El Paso.
