El Paso, TX (KTSM) — We all know it's hot outside and while many of us try to keep ourselves cool, we often forget about our pets.
During this time of the year many people try to shave their pets fur to help them cool off, but what they don't realize is this can actually cause them to get sunburned. If at all possible, try to keep your pets inside.
If you can't bring your pets inside, lay a blanket on the porch for them. The cement outside can be very hot for pets.
Local veterinarians say they see a lot of dogs come in this time of year with blistered feet, but what can be more of a nuisance during the summertime are ticks, fleas and mosquitoes.
