El Paso, TX — Leah Pearlman has established herself as one of the premier volleyball players in El Paso. A setter on the El Paso High School volleyball team, the 16-year old is getting a shot with Team USA. Pearlman will play for Team USA's Under 19 team at the 2013 Maccabi Games in Tel Aviv, Israel.
"I am so excited to play overseas, and especially, I have never been to Israel, so this is my first time, and I have so many people tell me how excited they are for me," said Pearlman. "Who wouldn't be absolutely ridiculously amazed at the opportunity to not only represent my country but represent El Paso, and just to be somebody that girls can look up too."
The tournament takes place July 18-31, and Leah is still short of her budget goal. Leah hopes to raise $4,000 more for her three week trip, which includes one week of practices then the two week tournament.
