El Paso, TX (KTSM) — If you're thinking of working out this weekend, participate in a walk to remember. Head out to the 7th annual Braden Aboud Memorial Run-Walk that's happening Sunday, May 19th.
The race is held every year to remember Braden Aboud, 14, who was killed in a skiing accident in 2007. Proceeds from the race go to the Braden Aboud Memorial Foundation, which is dedicated to improving the health and educational development of the youth of El Paso.
The race includes a 5K or 10K run or a 5K or 1 mile walk. Entry fees are $20 for people 20 and older, and $10 for those 19 years and younger. If you didn't register early, you can still register the day of the race beginning at 6:30 a.m. The race begins Sunday, May 19th at 8 a.m. in the Zach White Elementary school parking lot.
The first 7,000 entrants will receive t-shirts, backpacks and refreshments. Dog tags will be given to the first 3,000 people who finish. For more information on the race call 915-833-0393 or log onto www.bradenaboud.com .
