El Paso, TEXAS (KTSM) — It's no secret, the downtown area is breathing new life into El Paso. Friday, a rally was held to launch the "El Paso. It's All Good." campaign. The campaign celebrates the many exciting new developments happening in the El Paso community.
But due to the weather, it was cut short. Rally attendees were wearing "El Paso. It's all good." gear in support of the event. Another interactive part of the campaign is people can sign up to be a digital ambassador for El Paso.
Digital ambassadors will be enrolled to receive positive news updates about El Paso that can be shared on their social networks.
"The history that I've heard is it used to be really thriving and that's what you're looking for now to get it really thriving again and have the shops and have people downtown instead of going to malls. I think its fabulous. I love it, " said out-of-town visitor Debbie Briggs.
Briggs attended the event with daughter-in-law Maye San Jose.
"Alerts to what's happening in the city and I think it's great. I've been here almost four years and I still am not familiar with the city," said local El Pasoan Maye San Jose.
And just a few blocks from the event, a new boutique sells El Paso t-shirts and buttons made by local designers.
"We have actually have had more people asking for these shirts. People love it. A lot of people like to show pride when they go out of town so they come in. They're always posting things on Facebook with the shirts," said store employee Ruth Nicasio.
She says it feels like it's all part of this downtown revitalization and overall pride for the El Paso community.
