El Paso, TX (KTSM) — City Hall has finally moved into their new space in Downtown El Paso.
City Council has been holding their meetings at the Downtown Library since the building was knocked down.
Tuesday marked their first meeting in the new space.
"I think (it has) solved a lot of problems that we had at the old City Hall," said City Rep. Susie Byrd.
"In terms of the audio and the visual, there's a lot more opportunities for everybody in the public and for the council to see what's going on in terms of the Powerpoint presentations," she said.
Byrd won't spend much time at the new facility.
She is one of the representatives that will soon be leaving her spot on council. she is running for the district three spot on the EPISD board.
Her opponent is Alfredo Borrego.
The new city council chambers are located on Campbell St. in Downtown.
