El Paso, TX (KTSM) — Four people, including a 10-year-old girl, were sent to area hospitals after a crash in the Northeast side of the city Tuesday afternoon.
A 53-year-old woman driving a 2008 silver P.T. Cruiser was turning west onto U.S. 54 from McCombs Dr., when a 55-year-old man driving a 2001 green Dodge Dakota pickup truck heading south on McCombs slammed into her around 3:10 p.m., according to an El Paso Police Dept. news release.
The passengers inside the PT Cruiser had to be removed using the "jaws of life".
The drivers and the 10-year-old girl, who had been riding in the pickup, were taken to William Beaumont Army Medical Center, according to police.
The 55-year-old male passenger in the PT Cruiser had to be taken to University Medical Center with serious injuries, stated the police dept. news release.
Traffic investigators believe failure to yield the right of way on the part of the PT Cruiser was the cause of the crash.
