El Paso, TX - Coronado's Mitchell Marcus and Franklin's Jonathan Montanez have been on the Today show, Ellen, CBS Evening News, been guests of Chris Paul at a Los Angeles Clippers game, were honored at the NCAA Sweet 16 in Dallas, and honored on the State of Texas senate floor in Austin... now, a documentary by local filmaker Charlie Minn is on its' way.
Minn will produce the documentary titled, "The Perfect Turnover" on the pass from Franklin's Montanez to Coronado's Marcus, a special needs student, so he could hit a shot in his final home game in his Senior season.
Production should start on Saturday, May 4, and the expected release will be in October 2013.
Mitchell Marcus said, "I am very happy that we are doing a movie, it's for El Paso and the community." Jonathan Montanez added, "It's been phenomenal, everything with LA, Ellen, the Clippers game, definitely the Sweet 16 in Dallas, and then getting recognized on the senate floor in Austin, it's just been crazy."
Director and Producer Charlie Minn told us, "Every now and then when a story like this comes around with true human kindness and generosity, like the Mitchell Marcus story with Jonathan Montanez, I feel it's important to put it up on the big screen."
