Friends, family members and The Emergency Health Network, gathered at Memorial Park this afternoon in honor of National Developmental Disabilities Month.
An annual picnic was hosted to highlight accomplishments of El Pasoans coping with mental illness.
The picnic brought out more than 600 people who enjoyed an afternoon of music, food and games.
This year's campaign encourages opportunities for citizens with intellectual and developmental disabilities to function as independently and productively as possible.
Developmental disabilities affect more than six-million American children and adults and their families.
