WEST EL PASO — On Monday, local Jewish students got to experience Passover by baking a traditional Jewish food that dates back several thousand years.
Kids from Chabad Lubavitch Jewish Education Center in West El Paso began their day by making matzah the old fashioned way, by hand.
It's made by baking fresh dough immediately after kneading, before it can rise so matzah is flat and dense, like a cracker - not light and airy as conventional bread.
Rabbi Levi Greenberg says the importance of this exercise is education.
This season, Passover begins March 25 and ends April 2nd.
