The UTEP men’s golf team notched a 13th-place showing at the Don Puckette National Invitational Tournament on Sunday in Tucson, Ariz.
The Miners shot 898 as a team over 54 holes, with rounds of 295, 300 and 303 respectively. The champion of the 16-team tournament was New Mexico (277-288-279-844).
UTEP's top participant was Jere Pelletier, who tied for 29th place with a two-over-par 218 (74-70-74). Martin Simonsen tied for 51st place (71-76-76-223), Ian Patterson tied for 67th place (77-78-73-228), Roberto Ruiz tied for 84th place (77-76-80-233) and Jose Manuel Romero finished 86th (73-81-80-234) to round out the Miners' scorers.
UTEP will play in the Wyoming Cowboy Classic April 8-9 in Scottsdale, Ariz.
