Proposed New Mexico bill aims to keep kids safer

NEW MEXICO — The state of New Mexico is trying to keep kids safer. Tuesday, the New Mexico senate passed a bill to allow the Children Youth and Families Department the ability to conduct quicker criminal background checks with the FBI on any adults living in a home where a child, who's taken away from their parents, may be placed. The bill now heads to the house.
