EL PASO — The Bueno family has fallen on some bad times.
A disability has put Eduardo Bueno through six back surgeries.
"It's been eight years that I haven't worked," he said.
That's forced his family of five to live on one income, his wife's.
To top it all, their home was falling apart.
"Raising three kids, it's either a window or putting food on the table," said Eduardo.
"He was really depressed about everything that needed to be done in the house, not having the funds for it, and him having to do it himself and not being able to," said Ingrid, Eduardo's wife.
"He got really depressed, to where he tried to commit suicide," she said.
He survived and is getting treatment.
But the family still needed another miracle.
That came one night, while watching NewsChannel 9.
"The commercial came on, and I guess God just led us to enter the contest," said Ingrid.
Ingrid saw the Window World Give Back Campaign commercial, asking for submissions, along with pictures, to win brand new windows for their home.
Ingrid wrote her essay, nominating her husband Eduardo.
"I felt that this would really lift up his spirits," she said.
Soon after entering, their prayers were answered.
Eduardo was selected as the deserving homeowner.
Tuesday, Window World owner Kevin Tubbs and his team came out to install the family's new windows.
"Mostly (what) we look for is someone who truly needs the windows and truly can't afford them on their own," said Tubbs.
His generosity helped the Bueno family believe there is still good in the world.
"I believe the Lord helped (Tubbs) to help us, win this contest." said Ingrid.
"Thank you to Window World and to God, who made it all possible," she said.
Tubbs said that as long as his business is still running, he hopes to continue helping homeowners through the contest.
