EL PASO — El Paso police have made an arrest in the alleged gang-related shooting murder in Northeast El Paso Jan. 28.
William Estrada, 18, is accused of the murder of 18-year-old Christian Duran.
Duran was sitting in a car that Monday night, police say, when Estrada approached him and shot him, according to the release. Paramedics tried performing CPR on Duran and rushed the teen to University Medical Center, where he died.
As we've reported, Duran died from 3 gunshots to the chest, just a few blocks away from Andress High School, where he was a student. Duran's death is El Paso's first murder of the year.
Estrada was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on a $250,000 bond.
Police are not releasing the arrest photo, and are asking for the public's continued help.
