EL PASO — Tuesday's cold weather had the Salvation Army scrambling to find more beds at is shelter on East Paisano. The shelter put out a request for help. Fort Bliss responded, donating 40 cots to the shelter for two weeks to ensure that everyone in El Paso will have a warm place to stay during the cold weather.
"We just can't thank them enough. It's really cold out there and we obviously have so many people in need especially in conditions like this. They can actually be deadly for people who don't have a place to go," said Wes Trueblood with the Salvation Army.
Anyone who stays at the shelter is also fed a hot meal.
