EL PASO — A free program will offer El Pasoans tax assistance including filing services and Q&A sessions
El Paso Affordable Housing Credit Union Service Organization, a non-profit organization serving financially underserved community members with the ability to develop family wealth and economic and financial stability is launching the program. The Free Tax Assist program is the first of its kind in the city, members said.
The pilot program proposed by the IRS provides a website link to five vendors that provide software for self-tax preparation to taxpayers free of charge.
“This is the first program of its kind, uniting several non-profit organizations together to assist our taxpayers," Larry Garcia, President and CEO of EPAH said. "This is a great opportunity for our community members to get the assistance they need and I look forward to the future of the program expanding.”
