Nearly half of America's Tomatoes come from Mexico, and tomato growers in Florida aren't happy about that.
In fact, they're willing to risk a trade war to reverse the trend.
A new study [1] says U.S.. tomatoes will be hit with big premiums, and prices could double in the next few months.
The reason? If distributors were forced to withdraw the tomatoes from Mexico.
The U.S.. Commerce Department favored ending the agreement from 16 years ago, because it failed to protect U.S.. growers against Mexican tomatoes that are sold in the U.S.. below cost of production
Mexico and the U.S.. have been negotiating this week, but an agreement isn't expected until May.
