The Super Bowl is only nine days away and Americans will chow down on 1.23 billion chicken wings during the big game, but those wings are going to cost more.
According to a report by the National Chicken Council, Super Bowl Sunday will be the biggest day of the year for chicken wings, but due to a shortage in supply, there will be 12 million fewer wings than last year.
The reason behind the shortage is that soaring prices in corn and animal feed resulted in a drop in the number of chickens in 2012.
With a short supply and strong demand, the group said wholesale wings will be at their most expensive ever.
