The New Mexico State men’s tennis team makes its first road trip to Tucson, Ariz., to face Scottsdale Junior College and the Arizona Wildcats starting on Friday, Jan. 25. The road trip marks the first of seven straight matches away from home for the Aggies.
NM State is fresh off its season-opening win against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi last weekend. The Aggies claimed a 5-2 victory over the Islanders that included the crucial doubles point.
The Aggies meet the Fighting Artichokes on Friday afternoon before facing the 2-0 Wildcats on Saturday, Jan. 26. The dual with Arizona marks the 20th all-time meeting between the teams with the Cats dominating with an 18-1 record over the Aggies. Last season, Arizona claimed a 5-2 victory over the Aggies with NM State claiming victories at court one and six in singles play.
The Aggies face SJC at 1 p.m. at the LaNelle Robson Tennis Center on Friday, and take to the court against Arizona on Saturday at noon.
