EL PASO — Some South El Paso students may be forced to attend new schools starting next year. The El Paso Independent School District may change elementary school attendance zones to try and prevent overcrowding. Four schools would be affected. Some students at Douglass Elementary would have to go to Aoy Elementary School. Some Hart students would also move to Aoy, and some students who currently attend Beall Elementary may be forced to attend Zavala Elementary School. The plans are still preliminary. Several public meetings will be held over the next several weeks. District officials hope to present the plan to board trustees in March.
