The Gila National Forest is waiving recreation fees at the Upper End and Mesa Campgrounds at Lake Roberts for the weekend of Jan. 19 - 21, in celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
Due to the concern over frozen water pipes during the winter months, recreation fees are currently not being charged at the Piñon or Juniper Campgrounds (CG) at Quemado Lake and the Dipping Vat CG at Snow Lake. The Piñon and Juniper CGs are currently closed for the winter while the water is turned off at Dipping Vat CG. The Catwalk National Recreation Area is also not charging fees due to the partial opening of the area.

Gila National Forest offices that include the six Ranger Districts and the Luna Work Center in the Community of Luna, N.M., will be closed Monday in observance of the national holiday. Normal work hours will resume Tuesday.
