El Paso, TX — El Paso Independent School District officials say extra officers will patrol Macarthur and Burges schools on Monday. This comes after a custodian at Macarthur reported seeing a suspicious person with a gun on campus last Friday. The investigation prompted officials to put the elementary school and nearby Burges high school on a lockdown. Police never found the suspect and eventually called off the search. District officials say one EPISD officer is usually assigned to each campus but Monday, there will be extra officers patrolling the campuses throughout the day.
