Police say speed is a contributing factor
El Paso — A driver is ejected from his motorcycle and is found dead in the Lower Valley. Police say this is the first fatal accident of 2013 and they believe speed is a contributing factor.
Police say around 12:30 AM on Friday, a motorcyclist was speeding through Yarbrough and Starr Avenue.
The crash didn't involve any other vehicles besides the victim and his motorcycle. Police do suspect that speed is a factor but at this time, have not said if alcohol is to blame.
"Again speed a contributing factor. Motorcyclist lost control. As a result of that he became separated from the motorcycle and has died here at the scene,” Darrell Petry, the spokesman for the El Paso Police Department says.
That is the only information police have released at this time. At this time police have not yet released the victim's age of identity.
