EL PASO — Allegations are surfacing of widespread corruption by federal agents along the U.S. border. According to the Center for Investigative Reporting,144 agents have been investigated or convicted on various corruption charges in just the past couple of years. Of the 144 investigated, 47 of those agents are from Texas or New Mexico and 14 are from the Borderland. Most of the charges are related to drug trafficking, human smuggling, or bribery.
