EL PASO — Local artists were invited to attend an informational presentation on the Streetscape Public Art Project to determine if they qualified to participate.
Officials said the presentation will include an overview of the Request for Qualifications and a Q&A session to take place Wednesday, Jan. 9, from 5:30-6:30pm at Downtown Main Branch Library. The address is 501 N. Oregon.
The city was seeking to commission a professional artist or artist team to work with engineering and design consultants to devise artistic elements for the reconstruction of and streetscape improvements for the Central Business District Phase IV Project. The total project budget is $30,000 which includes the design fee and all design development expenses. Fabrication costs are included in the construction budget.
Interested potential applicants were encouraged to review the RFQ by visiting www.elpasoartsandculture.org  under the "public art opportunities" tab for details on submission requirements and the application process.
Deadline to submit the application is January 15, 2013.
