El Paso, TX — Newly elected 16th District Representative Beto O'Rourke will be sworn into office tomorrow.
News Channel Nine spoke with the former city councilman earlier about the fiscal cliff deadline that Congress narrowly made. He says he's glad a deal was reached but there's still plenty to do once his colleagues and him are sworn in.
"Short term issues like the debt ceiling and the credit of the United States from defaulting and the medium term issues like not stalling economic growth. The number one thing facing El Paso and the nation is jobs and if we don't get things right we could send it back to another recession,” said O'Rourke.
O'Rourke says he is honored and humbled to represent El Paso in the 113th Congress.
