El Paso, TX — The Hyundai Sun Bowl festivities continued Sunday night with one just for the fans.
The Sun Bowl Fan Fiesta event started at the El Paso Convention Center at four Sunday afternoon and lasted until 8pm. People can enjoy live music with local bands including a battle of the Georgia Tech and USC bands. There's also entertainment for the kids, and a folklorico performance. And of course the Ford Model T known as the rambling wreck of Georgia Tech made the trip again this year. The grand finale was a 30 minute firework show starting at 8. Many out of towners traveled to the borderland to watch their favorite teams.
"I'm a Georgia Tech alumni. This is the first bowl game I've ever been to so I figure this is a good chance. This is cool. This is a nice thing since we're out of town, we don't have anything else to do so this is a good way to get together and see what the community's doing and obviously there's a lot of support for the bowls. So that's good to see," said Greg Damian.
All of these events lead up to tomorrow's big game which kicks off at high noon.
