The clock is ticking toward a deadline for a free foreclosure review.
Monday is the deadline to ask for a free review if your home was in foreclosure in 2009 or 2010.
USA Today reports millions of homeowners are eligible for the review, which stems from a settlement between federal bank regulators and mortgage servicers. But fewer than 400,000 have requested one.
The paper states homeowners may have ignored or misunderstood notification letters because they were written in legalese and resembled letters sent by scammers.
