Doctors say shoveling a snow-packed driveway or doing vigorous activities in the cold weather, may increase the risk for heart attack for some people.
Experts at New York Presbyterian Hospital say blood vessels narrow during cold weather to prevent our bodies from losing heat. Combine those narrowed vessels with vigorous activities and you've got a recipe for heart trouble.
Experts suggest warming up before picking up the snow shovel. They also suggest wearing a scarf over your mouth and nose to warm the air you breathe.
