The National Rifle Association has announced a major press conference this Friday. It was the first statement by the NRA since the shootings in Newtown, Conn.
The organization's Facebook had been shut down since Friday, citing quote "common sense and respect for the families" as the reason for not commenting on the tragedy.
The statement read:
"The National Rifle Association of America is made up of 4 million moms and dads, sons and daughters - and we were shocked, saddened and heartbroken by the news of the horrific and senseless murders in Newtown. The NRA is prepared to offer meaningful contributions to help make sure this never happens again."
