LAS CRUCES, N.M. — Las Cruces City Council voted to delay the collection of impact fees for developments primarily on the outer edges of the city Monday afternoon.
Those fees are used when homebuilders construct new developments to pay for infrastructure such as roads and drainage.
The collection of those fees was scheduled to begin January 1st of next year.
The city will wait 6 months in hopes of allowing city staff to better address the issue of collecting fees and other forms of funding for infrastructure needs.
