ANTHONY, TX — A staff member at FCI La Tuna had to be hospitalized Thursday after being attacked by an inmate.
It happened shortly after noon.
A prison spokesman told NewsChannel 9 in an e-mail that an inmate struck the staff member with his fists.
The employee was sent to a local hospital, was treated and released.
The extent of the injuries was not released.
No word on what charges the inmate may be facing.
