EL PASO — Some children in the Chihuahita neighborhood will have a brighter Chirstmas this year thanks to the help of their peers. It's the 14th annual Chihuahita toy run. Motorcycle volunteers, including the sheriff's office, picked up donated toys from students at Cielo Vista Elementary, MacArthur Intermediate Ross Middle School and Hillside Elementary.
Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus were in attendance and say it's a valuable lesson for the kids."The main thing is these children learn to share and learn to give to the less fortunate. Some of these kids wouldn't have a Christmas otherwise if it wouldn't have been for the gist of toys for the less needy," said Santa.
The Volunteers were able to collect four truck loads full of toys for children. The gifts will be sorted out and then the children will pick out a toy.
