The Public Service Board will meet on Thursday, Dec. 6 to interview final candidates for the new President and CEO of El Paso Water Utilities.
This fall, current President and CEO Ed Archuleta announced his plans to retire at the end of his contract in 2013 after nearly 24 years of leading the Utility.
The board narrowed a field of 42 applicants to the following four finalists:
Roger S. Bailey, P.E., Public Utilities Director for the City of San Diego, California. Bailey has a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, and a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Mathematics. Prior to his position as Public Utilities Director for the City of San Diego, which he started in 2010, Bailey managed utilities in Arizona and Florida as well.
John E. Balliew, P.E., Vice President, Operations and Technical Services for El Paso Water Utilities. Balliew holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. Balliew began his career at EPWU over 30 years ago and held several senior management positions before he was promoted to his current Vice President position in 2007.
Dennis B. Porter, P.E., Director of Utility Services, City of Henderson, Nevada. Porter holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He worked as Assistant Director of Utility Services for the City of Henderson for over 9 years before he became the Director in 2006.
Gregorio Ramon, Assistant General Manager, Central Arizona Project (CAP), Phoenix, Arizona. Ramon worked in various senior management positions for water departments in Phoenix and Illinois for over 20 years before he joined the CAP leadership team in 2010.
