SOCORRO — A Socorro couple faces felony charges for failing to control their five pitbulls that attacked and severely injured a man last Friday, Sheriff's deputies said.
Armando Gutierrez said he was walking by the couple's yard last Friday evening when the dogs got loose, attacked and killed his dog, and bit off his ear and part of his nose.
The couple faces third degree felony charges of attack by dog resulting in serious bodily injury. The charge is punishable by 2 to 10 years in prison and up to a $10 thousand fine.
