EL PASO — The holiday has many traditions, but one of the tallest stands tonight in downtown El Paso. Mayor Cook, in his final year presiding over the event, participated in the countdown, and just as darkenss fell over the city, the City tree lit brilliantly to the applause and appreciation of adults and children who wanted to see it first..It was the signature moment of a colorful downtown Christmas parade.
The tree will remain lit during every evening of the holiday season
