LAS CRUCES — Las Cruces Police arrested a man suspected of breaking into a relative's home and stealing jewelry and electronics Wednesday.
Police were dispatched to a burglary in progress at a home on Primavera Street. They said as officers were en route they spotted Miguel Guzman Jr., 31 and a woman walking away from the residence. Officers questioned Guzman and located jewelry and an Amazon Kindle e-book reader that were taken from the home.
Officers learned that the home Guzman burglarized was a relative's and the stolen property belonged to three family members.
The 23-year-old woman who was with Guzman was not charged in connection with the burglary but did have an outstanding warrant for her arrest.
Guzman faces residential burglary and larceny charges.
