EL PASO — Today is Black Friday, the official kick-off to the holiday shopping season, and it started earlier than ever this year with many stores opening their doors on Thanksgiving. At Best Buy in East El Paso, dozens of people waited in line for hours, even days, for the doors to open. Francisco Rodriguez was the first in line. He started camping out on Monday to make sure he was the first in line.
"Yes, it's worth it. A lot. The price reduction, the savings that you get in the products, the quality, the price," said Rodriguez.
"It's nothing really. I'm just here for the stuff. It's cheap. There's no great deals like this before. I'm going to get the great deals," said Joshua Cancino, who started camping outside the store on Tuesday.
Best Buy will stay open until 10 p.m. Friday night. Some El Paso stores actually opened their doors at 10 p.m. on Thursday this year.
