El Paso - Things got off to a noisy start today at UTEP.
Students celebrated the longest standing tradition at the university called TCM Days.
Students say TCM commemorates the university's history as a mining and engineering school...
"It's one of the only traditions at UTEP and it actually helps us support the engineering classes and support out engineering and science programs at UTEP. So we always let them know when we see each other whether we work together or not that we all went through this tradition at UTEP called TCM so we encourage any engineer before they graduate from UTEP to make sure they go through this initiation and to be proud of being here."
TCM activities include engineering-inspired events such as the pick throw, panning for gold, a mine shaft obstacle course and an ore cart race.
