LAS CRUCES — Police arrested three men for their alleged involvement in the kidnapping of a Las Cruces woman.
Jeremy Leshawn Davis, 21, Alonzo Deangelo "Synna" Cliatt, 23, and Benjamin Niko Deon Bradley, 23, are charged with one count each of kidnapping, as well as conspiracy to commit kidnapping.
According to Las Cruces Police, the three men kidnapped a 19-year-old woman and held her against her will. Investigators suspect that the reason for the kidnapping was because the woman owed one of them $300.
Police said Davis sexually assaulted the woman more than once, and threatened her with a gun. He is also charged with two counts of criminal sexual penetration, and one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Officers found the woman inside a home on Espina St. She was taken to the hospital for multiple injuries, but is expected to recover.
Police said Davis was also at the home at the time, and tried to resist the arresting officers, but was eventually taken into custody. Investigators later discovered that the gun Davis had in his possession had been reported stolen from a home in Doña Ana County.
Officers arrested Cliatt and Bradley at a later time.
All three men are being held at the Doña Ana County Detention Center without bond. Police said additional charges are possible.
