MESCALERO, N.M. — A popular borderland ski resort is delaying its opening due to "lack of snow", according to a news release sent by leaders at Ski Apache.
Ski Apache was supposed to open this Thursday, Thanksgiving Day, but now hopes to open by Dec. 7.
In the meantime, construction crews will continue to take advantage of the warmer weather and work on $15 million in improvements at the resort, including a new high-speed eight-person gondola.
Once open, Ski Apache will be available seven days a week, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Easter.
