LAS CRUCES, NM — More than 40 years after it closed, Main Street Las Cruces will re-open after a multi year renovation.
It's the first time since 1949 the southern part of Main Street will be open to traffic.
A grand re-opening will take place Saturday at 230 p.m.., exactly 43 years to the day after the street was closed.
The growing popularity of the Farmers and Craft Market, First Fridays as well as other events downtown accelerated the project.
