Doña Ana County District 37 Race Recount Ordered

Doña Ana County — We're more than a week removed from Election Day, but a race in Doña Ana County is yet to be decided.

The district 37 race between (R) Terry McMillan and Democrat Joanne Ferrary apparently ended in a 6,247 tie.

That mean's a recount will happen December 3, according to County Clerk Lynn Ellins.

If the candidates are still tied, a five person panel will decide on a tie breaker, meaning a coin toss could decode the outcome.

McMillan has requested the district court impound the votes until the recount.
