El Paso community invited to participate in 3-mile run
Fort Bliss wants you! Lace up your running shoes and get ready to run with Fort Bliss Soldiers.
Maj. Gen. Dana J.H. Pittard, the 1st Armored Division and Fort Bliss Commanding General, wants the entire El Paso community to join his "Iron Soldiers" for their three-mile physical training run on Tuesday, Nov. 20 at 3:30 p.m.
Pittard said, "The run will not be too fast, not too far, but all fun!"
Pittard is inviting the entire community to join together with Fort Bliss as the U.S. Army prepares to kick off the Thanksgiving weekend!! Participants can take the entire family - strollers are welcome. Leashed pets are also invited to run.
The run starts at 3:30 p.m. at the Fort Bliss Noel Field on West Fort Bliss, near the Pershing Gate. Uniform for Soldiers is Army Physical Fitness Uniform, and civilians can wear comfortable sportswear. To enter the gate, just show a driver's license or another form of government identification.
