EL PASO — A proposed Loop 375 extension will be debated during a meeting Thursday evening.
Carlos Calvo of TXDOT says the final proposal will be presented Thursday at 630, followed by a chance for the public to weigh in on the issue.
The proposed extension would connect downtown to west El Paso.
The four-road toll way would begin downtown where Loop 375 currently ends at Santa Fe Street, and end near where I10 meets Paisano.
There have been concerns with the project, namely if the road would be built through the historic Chihuahuita district, as well as the road's proximity to the border.
This is being called the "Environmental Impact Study" part of the planning phase. TXDOT hopes to complete this phase by June or July 2013.
