EL PASO — The holiday season is just around around the corner. For most, it's a joyous time, but it can also be a very depressing time for a lot of folks. Many get the holiday blues. There are a lot of reasons for it. Some people are stressed by holiday shopping and planning. Others miss loved ones during the Holiday season. There are several things you can do to beat the holiday blues. Dr. Michael Escamilla is with the Department of Psychiatry at Texas Tech University's Health Sciences Center. He recommends delegating if you are stressed and also advises spending some time alone to relax. Other tips include letting go of the past if you are stressed to be around an annoying family member, don't drink too much, and make sure to give yourself a break.
