November 14th is World Diabetes Day. Celebration is for community members in support of wearing blue to raise diabetes awareness.
Binational Diabetes Committee (BDC), a non-profit committee formed to counter the growing epidemic of diabetes on the border, is inviting the entire community to wear blue on Wednesday, November 14 and join the celebration of the area's "Go Blue on the Border" campaign.
Go Blue on the Border Day Celebration will be held in conjunction with World Diabetes Day, Wednesday, November 14 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Bassett Place Mall, located at 6101 Gateway West.
Entertainment will follow with performances of Ballet Folklorico, as well as demonstrations of Zumba, Yoga and Samba.
Free blood glucose and blood pressure health screenings will also be available to everyone that attends.
Community members are invited to wear blue to raise diabetes awareness. BDC invites the entire community to wear blue, and not just the celebration attendees.
