Longtime Del Valle High School men’s soccer coach Bruce Reichman will join 12 other elite soccer coaches around the state of Texas when he is inducted into the Texas Association of Soccer Coaches Hall of Honor. Reichman, his coaching staff, administrators, honored guests and family will be in San Antonio this coming Friday, November 16 to attend the ceremony. Reichman is a Del Valle High School charter member and presently a faculty member in the Ysleta Independent School District with 26 years of service. “Twenty five years ago I would never have imagined being amongst the legends of this great soccer organization”, said Del Valle High School soccer coach Bruce Reichman.
Coach Reichman has earned numerous honors at Del Valle including Who's Who of American Teachers and the El Paso Times Coach of the Year in 1992, 1998, 1999, 2004, 2005, and 2008. He is also the 2008 National Federation of High Schools State Coach of the Year and Sectional Coach of the Year alongside the 2008 UIL Texas State Coach of the Year and was inducted into the El Paso Athletic Hall of Fame in 2009.
On April 13 of this year, Reichman reached yet another coaching milestone with his 500th career win over Crowley High School in the men’s regional semi-final game in Wichita Falls. He ranks third in the State of Texas amongst active coaches with the most wins and he ranks first all-time in the City of El Paso with 500 career wins which includes; 14 – District Championship Titles, 9 - Bi-District Championship Titles, 13 – Area Championship Titles, 7 – Sectional Championship Titles, 8 – Quarter Final Championship Titles, 7 – Sweet 16 Championship Titles, 4 – Elite 8 Championship Titles, 4 – Final Four Appearances, and 2 – State Championships in 2005 and 2008.
